Malai Peda With Condensed Milk

Malai Peda is a beloved Indian sweet that has been delighting taste buds for generations. This rich, creamy treat is traditionally made with khoya (milk solids), but today we're exploring a quicker and equally delicious version using condensed milk. Get ready to discover a dessert that's not only easy to make but also impossible to resist!

Peda is a popular Indian sweet made from milk solids, sugar, and flavorings like cardamom or saffron. "Malai" refers to cream, giving this variation its signature richness. Our condensed milk version simplifies the process while maintaining that luxurious taste and texture.

Advantages of using condensed milk:

  • No need to spend hours reducing milk to make khoya.
  • The condensed milk provides a reliably smooth texture.
  • It eliminates the need for additional sugar in most cases.

Ingredients:

  • Condensed Milk - 1 can
  • Milk Powder - 2 cups
  • Fresh Cream - 100 g.
  • Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp.
  • Pistachio - 1 tbsp. (cut into half)

Method:

  • Take milk powder, condensed milk and cream in a heavy bottom pan and mix well so that there are no lumps.
  • Now heat the pan on low flame and add ghee and cardamom powder.
  • Cook till the mixture starts leaving the pan by stirring continuously.
  • Remove the pan from the stove and cool for 15 minutes.
  • Take small balls of equal size and make into round shape.
  • Make a dent by gently pressing the peda in the center and place the pistachio.
  • Your tasty Malai peda is ready.

Tips for Perfect Malai Peda:

  • Don't rush the cooking process. Slow and steady stirring yields the best texture.
  • If the mixture becomes too dry, add a splash of milk to adjust the consistency.
  • For variety, try adding a pinch of saffron or a few drops of rose water for different flavors.

Happy cooking, and even happier eating!
